Never-ending story

Given that glass blower Barovier & Toso has been around since around the 13th century, the Venetian company, based in a palazzo on the isle of Murano, knows a thing or two about going and going. No surprise then, that its latest Art Deco-inspired light is based on the concept of infinite expansion.

The Tuileries wall lamp, cast using a rugiada technique which lends a dew-like quality to the glass, is complemented by a brushed metallic structure with a warm, honey-bronze colour. And with its perfect fleur-de-lys symmetry, it ensures that you can create infinite compositions of both illuminated and solid elements across a surface; meaning that, like Smythson’s Tudor Hardwick Hall (see Extreme Spec, p9), you too can have ‘more glass than wall’.
