Site-assembled roof and wall systems have helped this large scale logistics warehouse in Birkenhead Freeport achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating
At 494,750 sqft, ARC 500 is the largest distribution and production unit in Merseyside.
The well connected hub at Birkenhead Freeport on the Wirral is designed to accommodate large-scale logistics operations and offers easy access to the M53 motorway and the Port of Liverpool.
Leicester-based client Tungsten Properties, a specialist in the UK’s mid and big-box industrial and logistics sectors, appointed Winvic Construction to ensure the building was constructed as a net-zero carbon facility.
Building envelope supplier Building Systems UK (a Tata Steel company) and installer Hathaway were a key part of the delivery team.
Building Systems UK provided a complete building envelope solution, including its Trisobuild site-assembled roof and wall systems featuring a newly developed profile specifically designed for the office areas of the building.
The project completed in October 2024 and achieved significant environmental, social and governance (ESG) credentials, including a BREEAM Excellent rating and an EPC A+ target, adding a valuable economic asset to the ARC 500 Birkenhead Freeport.
