While proferring an unostentatious single storey to the roadside, away from the road this house drops down an extra storey with the slope of the site. The two wings, set either side of an entrance, curve around and into the garden. Entrance level living spaces rise into the gable of the house, a mezzanine above. Bedrooms hunker down in a stone plinth but lose neither light nor views thanks to projecting bays and corner windows.
