From remodelled listed buildings to sports centres with a strong social agenda, and a European HQ for an international IT firm
The scope and variety of architectural activity in the region was reflected in the shortlisted schemes. These included accessible structures forming part of a coastal civil engineering project, a new nursery school in a rural location along the Tyne valley, projects involving remodelling and additions to listed buildings in urban locations, a new multipurpose sports / educational building with a strong social agenda, and a state of the art, hi tech office building for an overseas client intent on establishing an IT base in the North East relevant to its operations throughout Europe.
