A 1960s extension is replaced by a new sixth-form centre, with teaching, study and social spaces over three storeys, and a purpose-built wellbeing centre. The elevation facing the quad features a roof eaves line matching neighbouring buildings and a single-storey colonnade. The other, facing the playing fields, is more imposing, with brick, stone and window detailing. The buildings are mostly naturally ventilated, while the building form, classroom layouts and window openings maximise daylight. CHP systems and PV panels are also used. The re-landscaped quad and raised central lawn create areas to socialise, much like a university campus.
