Activity: Collages and Victorians

This collage was made by a trio of nine year old children working together over two sessions. They learnt from Dickens, Gustav Doré engravings and old pictures of London during Victorian times. After that, children studied Hanna Hosch and the Bauhaus on how to make collages and they created this speculative image playing with shapes, composition and their own drawings. Seven Dials in London's Covent Garden and Renzo Piano's Central St Giles building give a sense of place and location for the new structure.
