The Markant electric awning system from German shading solutions manufacturer Markilux can be installed freestanding or integrated into existing architecture.

The high-quality awning provides sun, rain and weather protection for optimum comfort and safety outdoors.

Markant is suitable for both residential and commercial use and can be utilised as a modern and flexible roof on a patio or balcony, to provide a protected outdoor seating area in a restaurant or garden or to create a covered pool-side retreat.

A freestanding awning has to be one thing: robust. The Markilux Markant offers reliable stability even at higher wind speeds.

The integrated option featues a new bracket for connecting to a wall so there is no need for posts to be installed next to the building.

Whether you choose freestanding or integrated, the Markant frame and cover can be specified to match any building with a selection of seven standard frame colours and over 250 awning fabrics, alongside dirt and fire-resistant options.

Markilux Tracfix technology ensures that the cover is held taught in the guide tracks when extended and retracted so there is no gap between the frame and the cover.

Holes inserted in the cover provide even water drainage - water is channeled to the front via a gutter and then down to the ground through the corner posts.

Specifiers can include a range of heating and lighting options, plus vertical roller blinds can also be integrated into the frame to protect from lower light sun.

Markant's maximum dimensions are 3x6m or 6x6m as a two-field unit. Multiple units can be configured together to cover larger areas.
