With a reputation for quality, performance and durability, the VELFAC brand is adding value to projects of every size and in every sector
From student accommodation to primary schools and secondary schools, major residential developments to plot-by-plot builds, VELFAC composite glazing has established a strong reputation for quality and performance in every sector.
‘We have seen strong growth in health, housing and education in the last 18 months,’ says VELFAC sales director Andy Cook. ‘VELFAC has always been specified for its architectural versatility, especially the system’s slim frames and uniform sightlines, but our reputation for quality in every aspect of project delivery is also winning us important contracts.’
For VELFAC, quality also means value for money – low maintenance, durable design and low energy performance is paired with the comprehensive technical support, which clients need to ensure every installation stays on schedule and on budget. ‘For us, quality is more than just the product,’ says Cook, ‘it’s about the process as a whole. We want our clients to be satisfied with every aspect of the VELFAC system – from design through to performance once installed. This is why we have invested in our technical support team, and have the confidence to offer a 12 year warranty on all our frames and double-glazed units – one of the best warranties currently on offer in the market today.'
Composite windows are being specified more and more instead of full aluminium solutions because of their ability to meet thermal requirements at a more affordable cost level.
Alder Hey Children's Hospital, Liverpool
VELFAC windows are installed at the Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, designed by architects BDP and a RIBA 2016 National Award winner. The slim-framed VELFAC system met the ‘ambitious and aspirational’ brief by maximising daylight and enhancing views of surrounding gardens while also delivering durability and energy efficiency. BDP’s main client Laing O’Rourke, working for the Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, delivered the hospital to tight timescales by installing VELFAC windows into pre-cast load-bearing panels made at Laing O’Rourke’s own factory.
